Q: Is Roostie.com free to use?
A: Yes, You can use roostie.com for free whether you are you a music fan, an artist or band (signed or un-signed, established or new), a venue or a promoter.

Q: As an artist or band why should I register with roostie.com?
A: As an artist or band there are many fantastic reasons to join roostie.com
- The roostie.com website has been developed by well respected consultants in the music industry and the company includes a record label, management and consultancy. Roostie.com is the first website of this nature which will be continuously developed and overseen month in month out by these music consultants and their team. This means that we will be keeping a close eye on talent on Roostie.com which could mean big things for very special artists or bands!

- You get to build what in effect becomes your own website (profile area) on roostie.com which then benefits from the visibility you will receive thanks to the fans signing up who could be your fans, other artist/bands’ fans – this make your potential traffic and fan base quite big!

- You can add and manage so much information in your profile such as interviews, videos, lyrics, audio mp3’s, photos and galleries.

- You even get a roostie.com powered blog so that people can keep up to date with what you are doing and we also show fans your latest tweets from your twitter.com account.

- We have set roostie.com up to allow any facebook user to post your content to their mates’ facebook walls and the ability to share your musical content with anyone and everyone on the planet!

Q: As music fan why should I register with roostie.com?

- You can support your favourite bands or artists by viewing, rating and commenting on their material and hopefully encouraging your mates to come and support them on roostie.com too!

Q: I want to register as an artist but I also want to use the site as a music fan too. Do I have to sign up for 2 different accounts?
A: We appreciate that you may want to sign up as an artist or band but still may want to use the site as a music fan so that you can also comment/rate/vote/share other artist material and profiles, as well as building your own playlist. For this reason artists or bands should register as an artist or band and you will be prompted to tell us if you want to be a music fan too. Upon identifying this you will be able to access an area in the left hand area of your account which is designed for music fan access.

Q: Is there a limit to how long my username can be?
A: Yes, your username can only contain 50 characters

Q: How do I change my username?
A: If you wish to change your username you will need to contact support by emailing support@roostie.com.

Q: How do I change the email address I registered with?
A: Your email address can be changed by going to http://www.roostie.com/Members/ManageAccount

Q: How do I change my password?
A: You can change your password by going to http://www.roostie.com/Members/ManageAccount

Q: I have forgotten my password, what should I do?
A: You can request a new password at any time by going to http://www.roostie.com/ForgotPassword

Q: How do I use my roostie.com messaging system?
A: Your roostie.com messaging inbox and outbox are for email notifications sent by the Roostie.com team. You can respond to these emails via the website but the email system has not been designed for you to send messages to other users of the site at this stage.

Q: What if I am not interested in all the content boxes which appear on my page when I log into my account?
A:Well first off a content box refers to any of the boxes you see in your account area which hold content such as news, events, photos, videos, audio etc. If for example you are not interested in reading blogs then all you need to do is click the little arrow in the top right corner of the box and you will see that the information hides itself. Click the arrow again and the information will re-appear.

Q: can I change the layout of all the content boxes presented to me on the page?
A: Yes, you can! All you need to do is click down on a content box (content box refers to a box which contains your audio, video, comments, news, blog etc) and then drag it to a different part of the page.

Q: How do I report abuse and what happens?
A: If you wish to report a Comment containing abusive content simply click the Report Abuse link next to the comment. You will then be able to send a report to the Roostie team.

Q: How do I cancel my membership?
A: If you wish to cancel your account send an email to support@roostie.com from your accounts registered email address

Q: What will you be doing with my data when I have registered and filled in my profile details?
A: WR media Group (owner of Roostie.com) take data protection very seriously and we are committed to protecting all of your information; never selling it to any third party unless you allow us to. For more information please read our Privacy Policy for 2010 http://www.roostie.com/Privacy

Q: What about site safety – is the material on this website suitable for minors/young children?
A: Roostie.com has ensured that the system picks up on any artist or member who types in offensive language and any such profanities will not be displayed. The offending user will be issued with a warning or banned from the site if the problem continues. The website will operate this way where lyrics, comments and artist information are concerned. Unfortunately we cannot review every single audio track or video but artists and bands will be bound by the rules set out in our Terms of contributing content to Roostie.com (http://www.roostie.com/ContributionTerms). The Roostie.com team take child safety on the site very seriously.

ARTIST/BAND FAQs
Q: What are the rules around contributing my content (audio, video, images, interviews etc) to roostie.com?
A: Please be aware that people of all ages will be using this website and viewing your content. Children as young as 7 or 8 are likely to be your supporters and this is why we take the matter of profanity and offensive or inappropriate content extremely seriously. Any artist or band found or reported to be uploading inappropriate content will be black listed from the site. You are required to adhere to the rules set out in our Terms of contributing content to roostie.com (http://www.roostie.com/ContributionTerms)

Q: Does all of my content become visible to the public as soon as I upload it?
A: No, you can take your time in uploading your videos, building your photo galleries, adding your audio, interviews and bio etc. For each of these areas you will have the option of either making them visible immediately, or, you can make them visible at a later date when you are ready.

A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Blog within the Manage your Roostie blog content box

Q: How do I add and manage my interview(s)?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ManageInterviews

Q: How do I upload and manage my audio music file(s)?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Music within the Manage your music & video content box

Q: Is there a maximum file size for audio files?
A: No specific limit is set

Q: What file formats are accepted for audio music files?
A: We currently only support mp3 files but more file formats will be added in the future

Q: How do I upload and manage my video file(s)?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Music within the Manage your music & video content box

Q: What is maximum file size for videos?
A: No specific limit is set

Q: What video file formats will be accepted?
A: We currently support MPG, AVI, MOV, WMV and MP4 files

Q: How do I upload and manage my photo(s)?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Photos within the Manage your photos content box

Q: What is the maximum file size for photos?
A: No specific limit is set

Q: What file formats are accepted for photos?
A: We currently support JPEG (jpg), PNG and GIF file formats

Q: Is there a limit to how many videos, photos, audio tracks and interviews I can upload to my account?
A: We do not limit the amount of content you can add to your Roostie account

Q: How Do I create galleries or folders?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Photos within the Manage your photos content box. You can then add a new photo gallery by clicking Create Gallery

Q: How do I add and manage an event/gig?
A: Navigate to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist/ and click Manage Events within the Manage your events content box.

Q: How do I manage my subscriptions to news, blogs, event updates etc?
A: You can update your subscription preferences by going to http://www.roostie.com/Members/ManageAccount

Q: How do I block or unblock other users from commenting on my profile content?
A: You can disable commenting on individual blog posts when adding / editing your posts.

Q: How do I delete comments left on my profile content (audio/video/photos) by other members?
A: You can currently only report abusive comments to the Roostie Team. In the future we do plan on allowing artists to have more control over comment handling.

Q: How do I delete content I no longer want in my profile?
A: You can delete content from any section within your account. Simply go to http://www.roostie.com/Members/Artist and navigate to the appropriate area.

Q: Can I change the layout of my profile?
A: Yes you can! All you need to do is click down on a content box (content box refers to a box which contains your audio, video, comments, news, blog etc) and then drag it to a different part of the page. Your music fans will see your profile as you have laid it out.
